Candidates With Lower Scores Would Be Taken To Other Universities-Jamb

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has said it will send candidates that scored low in the 2016 jamb exam to other institutions in Nigeria.

Meaning if you have a higher score you chances of gaining admission is high.

Candidates of Various Universities To Pay N2,500 For Screening Fee - Association of VCs

Minister of Education Mr Adamu Adamu and other Stakeholders have agreed the sum of N2,500 as the screening fee for PUme, this was made in a statement issued on Wednesday by The Secretary-General, Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU), Prof. Michael Faborode.

The meeting that led to this Modalities was held in Abuja 4rm June18-June30. At the meeting, the following were agreed;

Universities and Colleges of Education should Admit 60% of Science students and 40% of Art students.

(2) Universities of Technology and Agriculture should Admit 100% sciences(but 80% sciences and 20% others).

(3) Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology should Admit 70% science and 30% Arts.

(4) For instance, if you apply for Law in UNIBEN and don't get admitted at last, that UNIBEN should send ur details to them(JAMB). That they will give ur details to ur 2nd or 3rd choice institutions for Admission consideration provided you reach JAMB 2016 general cutoff mark of 180.

(1) Screening of candidates shall be for those offered provisional Admission Only.
(2) No written Examination/Postume to be conducted.
(3) Verification of course requirements(O level or A levels).
(4) Verification of Valid Jamb result by checking;
i. Online Result Slip.
ii. Printout.
iii. Provisional Admission letter.
iv. Photo Album.
v. Check List.
vi. Biometrics.

Post-UTME: Varsity Snobs FG, Schedules Test For Candidates

The Rivers State University (RSUT), has scheduled the date for Post-UTME exercise for students interested in studying in the institution, despite the law abolishing the screening
It will be recalled that the Federal Government on the 2nd of June, 2016 scrapped the conduct of Post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) for candidates seeking admission into the higher institution.

Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu in his words, said: “As far as I am concerned, the nation has confidence in what JAMB is doing. The universities should not be holding another examination and if the universities have any complained against JAMB let them bring it and then we address it.”

But, the Rivers State University, in an announcement signed by the Registrar, D.C Odimabo has released a schedule for conducting the examination.

It reads: “All candidates who chose the Rivers State University of Science and Technology during the 2016 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and have received notification to that effect from JAMB are hereby requested to take note of the following:

“The screening exercise for admission of candidates will be administered only on candidates who chose RSUST and have received notification to that effect from JAMB.

“Only candidates who scored 180 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are qualified for the screening exercise in all the Faculties of the University.

“Candidates must possess the basic five (5) O’ level credit passes in accordance with the University’s Entry Requirements (Faculty/ Departmental) before applying for the screening exercise. It is mandatory that Candidates should upload their O ‘Level results and a scanned copy of their passport photograph. However, candidates who are awaiting their O’level results may apply but should so indicate.

It further noted that candidates are expected to register for the screening exercise online and to also pay a stipulated amount of money for the Application fee, Test Fee, and Computer Demonstration Exercise.

UNIBEN 2016/2017 Post UTME Form Closing Date Announced

The University of Benin (UNIBEN) ADMISSION Screening Exercise for 2016/2017 Academic Session will take place between 27th June, 2016 to 9th, July 2016 in designated centres within Ugbowo Campus of the University. The Screening Exercise shall be Computer Based. All candidates are expected to be seated, latest one hour before the stipulated time for the screening exercise.

PLEASE NOTE: Only candidates who applied through JAMB for UTME Admission and chose University of Benin as First Choice and scored 200 and above are eligible for this Screening Exercise.

METHOD OF APPLICATION:

All applications should be done between 7.00am 14th June, 2016 and Midnight 22nd June, 2016.
The procedure for the 2016/2017 Admission Screening application is as follows:
Candidates are advised to have a valid e-mail account before starting the application process.
1.Visit www.uniben.edu
2.Click on Student Portal
3.Click on Register for application at the top left of the display page to proceed.
4.Enter your Surname exactly as written on the JAMB Registration slip and your JAMB Registration Number immediately, your ID and Password will be displayed on the browser.
5. On the https://uniben.waeup.org click on ‘Login’ (top right of front page).
6. Enter your Username and the password to login.
7.To start the application process, please click on ‘Application record’, provide all required information and upload your passport photograph.
8.Upload a RECENT and CLEAR “1×1” COLOUR PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH WITH RED BACKGROUND IN JPEG FORMAT ONLY. NOTE that the photograph uploaded will be the only valid ID for all admitted candidates throughout their stay in the University of Benin. FAILURE TO UPLOAD THE SPECIFIED PASSPORT PHOTOGRAPH WILL LEAD TO DISQUALIFICATION and failure/forfeitures of admission.
9.To pay for the Application, click on “Add online payment ticket” at the bottom of the page, then click on “College Pay” on the top left corner of the page, follow the instruction to pay the application fee of N 2,000:00; (The fee excludes other charges), the admission screening exercise past questions for N1,000:00 (optional); excluding Interswitch and Portal Services charges with an ATM-Enabled Verve or Master Card from any Commercial Bank
10.A link is displayed “Download past questions to practice.
11.Preview and confirm your information before submitting your application online. (No correction will be accepted after the closing date).
12.Print out an acknowledgement slip that contains the screening schedule.

Closing Date:
Application website closes by 22nd, June 2016 (i.e. all applications must be concluded online not later than 22nd June, 2016). Candidates, who pay after the deadline of Midnight 22nd June, 2016 will not be Screened.
